–Physical and sexual changes, social and academic pressures, personal doubts, and temptation cause many teenagers to feel anxious, confused, and depressed

–20 percent of students report being bullied frequently; more than 50 percent report having been a victim at least once

–All victims of bullying are upset by it, but some individuals seem to be more traumatized by the experience than are others

•Cyberbullying

–Takes place through e-mail, text messaging, Web sites and apps, instant messaging, chat rooms, or posted videos or photos

•40–50 percent of all children and teens have been bullied online at least once; 21 percent are bullied online frequently

•Girls are at least 50 percent more likely than boys to be cyberbullied on a regular basis

Keeping Clean

It is important to keep any space you’re around clean because it can help out with preventing illnesses. I unfortunately live with someone who doesn’t know a thing or two about throwing away garbage. She leaves piles and piles of trash in the fridge or even in the room we share in the dorms on campus. She keeps apparently getting sick but she lives in a pig style life style. It’s important to keep your hygiene as a priority and your space around you because you can’t just think about yourself it impacts those around you. Picking up after yourself is important as well because you prevent injuries, cross contamination, or other negative things than can possibly occur. My roommate also leaves her air and trash inside the bathroom and it’s disgusting to look at because she doesn’t clean up after herself. You literally have to jam it into her brain in order for something to happen. I know this was a shorter blog but just make sure yourself and your surroundings are clean because it does impact yourself and others around you

Eating Fruits and Veggies

Each one of your meals should include a protein source, a fat source and low-carb vegetables.

Constructing your meals in this way will automatically bring your carb intake into the range of 20–50 grams per day.

Protein Sources

  • Meat: Beef, chicken, pork, lamb, etc.
  • Fish and Seafood: Salmon, trout, shrimp, etc.
  • Eggs: Whole eggs with the yolk are best.

The importance of eating plenty of protein cannot be overstated.

This has been shown to boost metabolism by 80 to 100 calories per day.

High-protein diets can also reduce cravings and obsessive thoughts about food by 60%, reduce the desire for late-night snacking by half, and make you so full that you automatically eat 441 fewer calories per day just by adding protein to your diet .

When it comes to losing weight, protein is the best option.

Low-Carb Vegetables

  • Broccoli
  • Cauliflower
  • Spinach
  • Tomatoes
  • Kale
  • Brussels sprouts
  • Cabbage
  • Swiss chard
  • Lettuce
  • Cucumber
  • Etc

Don’t be afraid to load your plate with these low-carb vegetables. You can eat massive amounts of them without going over 20–50 net carbs per day.

A diet based mostly on meat and vegetables contains all the fiber, vitamins and minerals you need to be healthy.

Fat Sources

  • Olive oil
  • Coconut oil
  • Avocado oil
  • Butter

Eat 2–3 meals per day. If you find yourself hungry in the afternoon, add a 4th meal.

Don’t be afraid of eating fat, as trying to do both low-carb AND low-fat at the same time is a recipe for failure. It will make you feel miserable and abandon the plan.

Dream Journal: Dragon

So I was able to transform into a dragon there was this guy trying to hunt me down but never knew what my human state looked like. So I was grocery shopping with you one day and there was a robbery I literally picked my boyfriend up and flew him out of there because I wanted to protect my boyfriend. Then I went back to make sure everything was okay once I got you out of there and he was safe. This random dude comes over to me in my human form I’m out of my dragon form and tried to accuse me of drinking although I was sober af and I’m over here like wtf? He was a cop too so I was like okay go ahead and accuse me and test me cause I’ll pass with flying colors. So he tests me and I pass and he lets me go I’m like dude I could’ve been saving these people and yet you’re over here wasting my time laughs at me and asks me how can you possibly save them. I told him watch. As I’m running into the store I transform into my dragon state and I smacked the officer with my tail. Unfortunately this is the time I woke up so that’s where it ended 🙂 hope you guys enjoyed this dream of mine!

Mental health day

Some of you guys may know about some of my mental health problems I’ve had in my past, but for those who don’t I would love to be open about it. I suffered peripartum and postpartum depression. For those who aren’t familiar with those two terms peripartum is developed during pregnancy and postpartum is depression that follows afterwards. Another thing I didn’t really realize I had till later on in life was post traumatic stress disorder, also known as, PTSD. I had develop these things all after a traumatic event that really changed my life for ever. I have written a blog about this event previously so I do encourage if you do want to know what had happened to read it. I want people to know that mental health is no joke. Sometimes I find myself steal dealing with a little bit of PTSD, but it does get easier because I have the support system out there. I know it’s something that’s hard for a lot of people to talk about or be open to vulnerability, but just know you’re not alone. There are so many strong people battling mental health every single day. Keep your head strong and keep fighting.

How to Improve Language communication

Be concrete and specific: Get in touch with your senses
Be Precise-Use details and examples to avoid ambiguity (“things” and “stuff”)

Use qualifying language to avoid generalizations: avoiding “never” and “always”
EXAMPLE:

“He’s hilarious.” (vague and generalized)

“Tom’s jokes are hilarious.” (better)

“When Tom told the joke about the watermelon, everyone laughed.” (even better)

Adapt language to your listeners (Who): Try to avoid jargon and slang the other person may not understand or may misinterpret ▣

Demonstrate linguistic sensitivity (Be respectful/polite, not sexist, racist, offensive, etc.) ▣

Use “I” statement: Avoid “you” statements. Improve your emotional vocabulary: Clearly articulate your “6th sense”

Improve Message Semantics: Be CONCRETE AND SPECIFIC ○Use concrete and precise language with details and examples to improve specificity. ◦Be CONCRETE: words that describe something that can be sensed ◦Name your senses.   What is the 6th sense? ◦Be PRECISE: Specific descriptive details ○AVOID AMBIGUITY (imprecise): words such as “things”

Being Mindful of Others

It is important to keep in mind about those around around you because your actions can effect them either negatively or positively. For example, if you live with someone and they have the habit of staying up late and coming home late, let them know ahead of time that you have to get up early in the morning or that you’ll be asleep by a certain time each night. That way they know to be quiet when they get home. It’s difficult to live with people at times, especially if your experiences are all new to them. Another example is, if there is a large group of people walking in front of you and there isn’t a way to go around them, just ask to say excuse me or pardon me, that way they can get out of the way. Those people can also be respectful and form a single file line. Every action can lead to another action. It is important to be looking up while walking, running, or any time you’re on your feet and to be aware of surroundings. If you’re out on a date and its cold outside and who ever you’re on a date with is clearly freezing cold, be generous and offer them your jacket or sweatshirt. Hold doors open for people because sometimes they have their hands full and may not always have a chance to open a door. Being mindful in a positive way can even change someones day. Let’s say your partner is having a rough day and you want to make them feel better. Doing little things for them can greatly change their mood. Buying flowers, taking them out for dinner, or giving them a massage to name a few can really impact them.
